Account Management
How can I update my profile/account details?
Your profile/account details can be updated by clicking on the "profile" link located in the navigation by clicking here or the "Your Profile" link the three horizontal bars in the top-left corner of the screen. You must be logged into your account to access your profile.
At present, you can't update your profile avatar (image) associated with your bargains.com.au account on bargains.com.au. However, if you update your avatar on the social network you used to log in, and then log out and in again on bargains.com.au, we will go and fetch your updated avatar.
I forgot my password/how can I update my password?
As we only use social media logins to verify you, you will need to reach out to the network you forgot your password for, and ask or have them reset it for you. That is unfortunately not something we can assist you with.
Why do you only use social networks for my login?
Simply, makes our site far more secure. As we don't need to store your access details, they cannot be misused (even in the unlikely event that would happen).
Through market research, we have found that nearly every one of the visitors to bargains.com.au have at least one Facebook, Google or Twitter account, which is why those networks were chosen to be partnered with, in order to assist with account authentication.
What do you do with my social information?
We only, strictly use the social login functionality for login and verification purposes. We do not, and will not collect any information about your friends, your groups or anything else other than basic contact information in order to verify your account.
How can I update my Profile Photo/Avatar?
At present, you can't update your profile avatar (image) associated with your bargains.com.au account directly on bargains.com.au.
However, if you follow the steps below, you can update your avatar that is seen on bargains.com.au:
- Log out of bargains.com.au (you can click here to do this)
- Navigate and login to the Social Network you used to join Bargains.com.au (either Facebook, Google or Twitter).
- Update your primary avatar/photo on that Social Network.
- Return to bargains.com.au, click the login link and then click the Social Network you just updated your avatar on.
This will then log you in, and in the process of being logged in, bargains will contact that Social Network and retrieve your updated avatar.

Is there a way to see my points history?
If you click here, you can see a full statement of points you've earned through the bargains.com.au site.
Why am I not on the leaderboard?
Only the top 50 members are featured on the leaderboards :( Why not click here to check out all the ways you can earn points and work towards getting on the leaderboard?
Adding a Bargain
There is a really simple 4-step process to submitting a bargain to appear on the site. Simply click here, or the black plus disc (+) in the top right corner of this page to start that process.
I submitted a bargain, why isn't it showing up?
One you submit a bargain, it takes our moderators a little while to review what you submitted and approve (or reject) it.
As soon as we approve (or reject) the submission, you'll get an email from us letting you know your submission is live, or if it has been rejected. At this point, if your submission is approved, you'll also be credited with points.
I submitted a bargain, where are my points?
You will only earn points for a submitted bargain if it is approved by our moderators.
One you submit a bargain, it takes our moderators a little while to review what you submitted and approve (or reject) it.
As soon as we approve (or reject) the submission, you'll get an email from us letting you know your submission is live, or if it has been rejected. At this point, if your submission is approved, you'll also be credited with points.
Why was my bargain submission rejected?
We have a pretty standard review process when it comes to approving or rejecting content on the bargains.com.au site.
If your submission was rejected it will be because one or more of the following occurred:
- The bargain is old, expired or offline at the time it was reviewed;
- The submission contains inappropriate language or imagery;
- The submission contacts erroneous or unverifiable information;
- The submission is a duplicate, and actually already appears on the site;
- A possible other reason that isn't specified here.
If you would like specific details on why a bargain was not approved, please contact us and we'll do our best to relay the reason why it was rejected back to you.
How can I get my Bargain to appear on the Trending or Hot pages?
We have a fairly complex computer algorithm that selects deals to appear on either the trending or hot bargain pages.
In order to assist in the prevention of fraud, that algorithm is kept secret. However, there are ways you can help get the bargain on these pages, such as:
- Share the link with your friends, family and Social Contact;
- Urge other members or your contacts to up-vote your submitted bargain;
- Ensure the bargain you submitted is a truly awesome deal;
- Ensure the image and content you supplied with the bargain is clear and easily understandable.
Ultimately, you will find that any bargain submitted that is genuinely a good deal, will find it's way to the trending and possibly the hot pages.
